KITE is evidently constructed to do something different.

The peculiarity of KITE is that it begins with the assumption software agents will become actors, not only tools, in an economy. The whole design space is different once you admit that premise. Payments are no longer infrequent. They are continuous, autonomous and contextual.

Here, the emphasis of KITE on agentic payments is important. The chain is not merely facilitating transactions. It is empowering agents to work with identity, boundaries and accountability.

That difference is not too sharp. A payable without identifying agent is a risk. A verifiably identified agent and scoped permissions are transformed into infrastructure.

The three-layered identity model is a powerful indicator of will. Separating users, agents, and sessions recognizes one fact most chains overlook: autonomy is finite.

Not all actions ought to be given complete authority.

KITE appears to put control and safety at the forefront over sheer flexibility, by design.

EVM-compatibility is not a lazy feeling either. It enables KITE to connect to current tooling and redefine the way transactions are initiated and controlled. Finding that compatibility/specialization balance is difficult to strike.

KITE does not seem to be pursuing the current DeFi users. It seems to be getting ready to a close future when AI agents will organize, compensate, and negotiate on-chain in real time.

Infrastructure designed towards that world will not seem exciting in this day.

YES

But when that transition occurs, it will be already there.

Such projects are concerned less with short-term stories than with whether the assumptions behind them are correct. KITE is making a clear bet. And it’s a serious one.
