$ETH Ethereum has confirmed its two upgrade plans for 2026. Did you know?

The Ethereum 2026 dual upgrade plan is finalized! In the first half of the year, Glamsterdam will be launched, followed by Hegota in the second half, with a half-year iteration for continuous renewal.

Glamsterdam focuses on L1 efficiency and decentralization for builders, promoting core proposals such as EPBS and block-level access lists, and fully optimizing network foundational performance. In the second half of the year, Hegota will aim at the stateless client goal, likely incorporating Verkle trees, and synchronously tackling state cleaning and execution layer optimization, addressing the complex adjustments that were not implemented in the previous upgrade.

This dual upgrade will link to the 2025 Fusaka upgrade benefits, and with the 2026 plan to push the gas limit to 180 million, it will further reduce L2 transaction costs and significantly increase overall network throughput. Not only will it pave the way for the implementation of technologies such as zkEVM integration, but it will also strengthen the deflationary expectations for ETH, clearing obstacles for institutional-level DeFi applications. The vision of Ethereum as a 'world computer' is accelerating towards reality!
