There is an interesting phenomenon: everyone who truly learns a skill has experienced this sentiment: "I never expected to use it here!"
This is what is called integration.
Only after you have more concepts in your mind can they have the chance to create "unexpected connections." If you have very few useful concepts in your mind, how can there be "unexpected connections"? Without "unexpected connections," how can you encounter "unexpected surprises"?
