$ETH is currently compressing inside a contracting triangle that has been forming since late November, which usually signals that a major expansion move is approaching. Price action over the past weeks shows increasing pressure as volatility continues to tighten. We’ve now seen two clean rejections at the 200-day EMA, clearly marking this level as the key resistance zone. Until ETH can reclaim this moving average with strength, upside moves should be treated with caution. On the bullish side, the structure remains constructive as long as higher lows continue to hold, particularly around the $2.90k region. This level is acting as an important demand zone and trend support, keeping the broader short-term uptrend intact. A daily close above the upper boundary of the triangle, combined with a decisive reclaim of the 200-day EMA in the $3.20–$3.25k area, would be a strong confirmation of a trend reversal. If that breakout occurs with volume, the path opens toward a medium-term target around $4,200. However, traders should remain disciplined. A daily close below the rising trend line would invalidate this structure and shift the bias back to the downside, potentially exposing ETH to deeper retracements.
