BlackRock just made another institutional leap forward. š

The asset manager has officially filed for an iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF with the SEC, proposing to stake 70%ā90% of its ETH holdings and distribute the yield directly to investors.
This comes as BlackRockās existing spot Ethereum ETF already holds over 3.7 million ETHāworth roughly $11 billionāsolidifying its position as one of the largest institutional holders of Ethereum. Meanwhile, its Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, continues to see massive demand, with net inflows surpassing $25 billion in 2025 and remaining a top global ETF even during volatile periods.

The shift in tone from leadership is unmistakable. CEO Larry Fink has moved from crypto skeptic to vocal advocate, calling Bitcoin a legitimate asset class and pointing to Ethereum staking and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization as the next frontier for finance.
BlackRockās total crypto-related holdings now exceed $100 billion, signaling that institutional entry is acceleratingānot just in accumulation, but in product innovation that bridges traditional finance with blockchain-native yield.
With altcoin momentum building alongside institutional infrastructure, the conditions for a powerful ETH/BTC rotation may be forming.
