to post-quantum standards will take at least 5 to 10 years, according to Jameson Lopp, lead developer of Bitcoin and co-founder of the cryptocurrency custody company Casa, who shared his views on the current debate regarding quantum computers.

Lopp shares the opinion of Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream, a company specializing in crypto infrastructure, that quantum computers pose no short-term threat to Bitcoin. Lopp stated this in an article published on X.

"Quantum computers will not destroy Bitcoin in the near future. We will continue to monitor their evolution. However, making thoughtful changes to the protocol and an unprecedented migration of funds could easily take 5 to 10 years."
