Why nothing happened for hours (aka: when math says “nope”)

So… the bot was running.

Markets were moving.

Signals were almost there.

And yet:

No trades. Zero. Nada.

Turns out we had a beautiful, elegant, perfectly logical mistake:

👉 We capped our expected edge at 0.20%

👉 …but demanded a minimum required edge of 0.40%

Yes.

That means the bot was politely waiting for something that could never happen.

Like waiting for a green light on a road that only has red ones.

To the bot’s credit: it did exactly what it was told.

To our credit: we eventually noticed 😅

No panic trading.

No random entries.

No “just let it fire once”.

Just silence.

Mathematically correct silence.

We’ve fixed the logic (not by making it reckless, but by making it possible).

Lesson learned: sometimes the market isn’t quiet — your gates are just impossible to pass.

Back to observing.

Back to evolving.

And yes… still slightly laughing at ourselves.

Building in public means sometimes debugging in public too.
