Tokenization is moving fast and traditional banks cannot stop it. MoonPay President Keith Grossman said that progress cannot be frozen to protect old systems. Innovation does not ask for permission and it forces industries to adapt.
Tokenization is the process of putting real-world assets such as property stocks and credit on the blockchain. This method makes settlement faster and cheaper. It is also scalable across the world. U.S. regulators are encouraging capital markets to move on-chain which could make tokenization mainstream.
Some traditional finance players have expressed concern. In August the World Federation of Exchanges warned that unregulated tokenized stocks could hurt market integrity. Citadel Securities asked for DeFi regulations before allowing tokenized markets to grow. Despite this resistance Grossman believes tokenization is inevitable. He compared it to how media changed with digitization. The industry did not disappear but it transformed completely. He said finance will also change and those who embrace tokenization will benefit.
Eli Ben-Sasson, founder of Starknet and Zcash, also said that crypto will take over traditional finance infrastructure. He suggested there will be no crumbs left for the old system.
The tokenized market is already large. It is over seven hundred billion dollars including stablecoins which alone total three hundred billion. Loans and credits are also moving on-chain with examples like repurchase agreements and U.S. Treasury debt. Tokenized stocks have grown strongly in 2025 even while the wider crypto market is quiet.
Some of the leading issuers are Ondo Finance Backed Finance and Securitize. On the settlement side Ethereum is first with over three hundred million dollars followed by Solana then Algorand and BNB Chain.
Grayscale estimates that tokenized markets could grow a thousand times by 2030. Ethereum BNB Solana and Chainlink are expected to benefit the most from this expansion.
Tokenization offers efficiency faster settlement and global access. It changes how value moves and how markets operate. Traditional finance may resist but history shows technology cannot be stopped once it becomes useful and widely adopted.
The trend is clear. Finance is on the path to transformation. Tokenized assets are growing and more investors and companies are participating. The market could reach one trillion dollars soon and continue expanding rapidly.
Grossman and other industry leaders believe that tokenization will reshape finance as digitization reshaped media. Those who act now are likely to gain early advantages while those who resist may fall behind. The growth potential is enormous and the pace is likely to accelerate in the coming years.
