Currently, holding tokens does not yield any revenue from the chain, and is only a hope for price increase, while the revenue from the chain or the project flows into other places, such as labs or foundations.
$UNI is an example where they have redirected and started to rebuild mechanisms to help holders gain additional benefits for long-term holding.
The story of Aave may be approaching its conclusion, but its price is likely to remain low for a long time, as the current solution, if any, is merely a compromise.
The conflicts from the community with the team and founder are fundamentally unresolved; if so, when the community loses trust, who will still want to buy and hold tokens?
