The Hong Kong police arrest 15 people in connection with a cryptocurrency theft

According to PANews, the Hong Kong police arrested 15 individuals following a theft involving employees of a Japanese company engaged in cryptocurrency and luxury goods business. The incident occurred last week when the employees went to a virtual currency exchange store in Sheung Wan, intending to exchange 1 billion yen, or about 50 million Hong Kong dollars, for cryptocurrencies and Hong Kong dollars. The employees were attacked with a bladed weapon. Seven of the arrested individuals have been charged with conspiracy to commit theft. Authorities continue their investigation to recover the missing funds and have not ruled out further arrests.
