🚨 Price error of $81,132: How one click deprived the user of capital
Another crypto lesson paid for with a huge sum. According to Scam Sniffer, the victim lost $81,132 just by copying an incorrect address from the transaction history.
🛑 How does this trap work (Address Poisoning)?
Fraudsters use the tactic of "address poisoning." They create a wallet whose address is visually almost identical to yours (the first and last 4–6 characters match). Then they send you a tiny amount so their address appears in your history. The next time you are in a rush and copy an address from the recent transactions list, you accidentally select the hacker's wallet.
🛡 How to protect your funds:
Do not trust the transaction history: Never copy an address from the list of past transfers.
Always check the characters in the middle of the string.
White Lists: Add verified addresses to the "Whitelist" in your Binance security settings.
Test payment: Before sending a large sum, always make a test transfer for a minimal amount.
In crypto, there is no "cancel" button. Your attentiveness is the only barrier between your capital and fraudsters.
