🟦 Today's post about COFER (IMF) + Key events | December 24, 2025

📅 The last official update was issued on December 19, 2025, for the Q3 2025 data (2025Q3)

Key figures:

Total global foreign exchange reserves: 13.0 trillion$ (a slight increase from 12.94 trillion$ in Q2)

Dollar share: 56.92% (a slight decrease from 57.08%)

Euro share: 20.33% (a slight increase from 20.24%)

Yuan share: 1.93% (a slight drop from 1.99%)

Other currencies: 20.82% (confirming the continued trend of "diversifying" reserves)

🔍 What is the most important event within COFER this quarter?

An important methodological change starting from 2025Q3: the IMF canceled the "unallocated" item and began to estimate/impute the unreported portion until the data covers 100% of the reserves, with the estimated portion reaching 10.4%.

🌍 What does this mean for the market and crypto?

Q3 data shows relative stability after strong volatility in Q2, and any "dollar decline/diversification of reserves" remains slow and gradual, not a sudden upheaval.

This usually reduces "liquidity shocks" suddenly, but in the short term, the impact of interest rates and liquidity remains the strongest on BTC and altcoins.

⚠️ Quick note: COFER measures "foreign exchange" reserves only (and does not include gold and special drawing rights).

💬 Question for followers: Do you expect to see a gradual decline in the dollar's share in 2026 if it strengthens again?
