According to Planet Daily, Bloomberg senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas said that ETFs may usher in two major catalysts before the end of this year as they will be open to more investors on more platforms. The first catalyst involves making them accessible to the asset management industry. Balchunas expects ETFs should be available on these platforms within the next few months. The second catalyst will be the launch of options trading on a Bitcoin ETF, and he estimates that options based on the ETF will be available in September. Additionally, banks are likely to develop structured products around ETFs, and another vehicle would be the 2X Spot Bitcoin ETF, where the exchange is packaged within the ETF.
