I put $25 into BTC every week for a year. Total invested: $1,300. Current value: $921. That is a -29.2% loss. Brutal on paper.

But here is the math most people miss.

If I had done $100 once a month instead of $25 weekly, the same $1,300 would have bought fewer coins during the dips. Weekly DCA pulled the average buy price lower because some weeks BTC was 30-40% cheaper than others. The same dollars bought more sats when fear was highest.

The result? My cost basis is lower than monthly lump sums. Even with a 29% paper loss, I own more BTC than someone who waited for monthly buys. When the market turns, I recover faster.

This is not about timing the bottom. It is about covering more price points. Weekly DCA catches more volatility than monthly. That is the edge.

How long do you hold something before it stops being conviction and just becomes stubbornness? That's the thing I kept chewing on while watching $PI today. It dropped another 5% or so, down around $0.12, and my feed was split right in half: people who've held since the mining days saying it's finally bottomed, and people quietly heading for the exit. Same chart, completely different stories. The red candle was never the hard part. It's how all those years already spent make people dig in harder instead of stepping back. For context: $0.12 is a long way below where most of those early holders figured they'd cash out.
