🟥 The ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is at risk after the U.S. seized an Iranian cargo ship attempting to breach its blockade. Tehran has vowed to retaliate and is refusing to join new peace talks for now.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the U.S. is "not serious" about diplomacy and that Iran will not alter its demands. He emphasized that Iran rejects deadlines and ultimatums when it comes to national interests.

The U.S. had planned to begin negotiations in Pakistan before the two-week ceasefire ends, with major security measures in place in Islamabad. However, Baghaei accused the U.S. of holding "unreasonable and unrealistic positions."

A senior Iranian official added that the ongoing U.S. blockade of Iranian ports is damaging peace prospects, and reiterated that Iran's "defensive capabilities," including its missile program, are not up for negotiation.
