A second token sounds like a red flag. I thought so too, until I read the actual design.
vPIXEL is a spend-or-stake-only asset. It cannot be traded or sold. That single constraint changes everything about how you evaluate it. This isn't another inflationary reward token dumped on players. The intent is to lock up more PIXEL, reducing circulating supply while still giving players value within the ecosystem.
There's also a regulatory angle here that's underappreciated. Because vPIXEL can't be traded, it may offer advantages for mobile platform integration Apple App Store and Google Play compliance become more achievable. That's a real distribution unlock, not just a tokenomics patch.
The risk is complexity. Two-token systems have burned players before. But vPIXEL isn't trying to replace PIXEL it's a containment layer for in-game value. Whether that distinction holds under pressure is the question I'm sitting with.
