I love, as many people do, the idea of @OpenGradient , which first impressed me. The vision of a decentralized AI is exciting—more open, more accessible, and less dependent on a few large companies.
But the more I thought about it, the more one question_ stayed with me: when something goes wrong, who is responsible?
Decentralization can eliminate single points of failure, but it can also blur responsibility. Most users won’t care about how the infrastructure works—they’ll simply expect the AI to be reliable and that someone will take responsibility if it isn’t.
I still think OpenGradient is a fascinating idea, and I hope projects like this succeed. But for me, the real challenge isn’t just building a decentralized AI—it’s making sure responsibility doesn’t disappear along the way.
