When assets are deposited into Ether.Fi, they are automatically re-staked through Eigenlayer. This process leverages staked ETH to bolster external platforms (such as rollups and oracles) with an economic security layer, thereby enhancing returns for ETH stakers.
The native utility and governance token of the Ether.Fi ecosystem is $ETHFI. It plays a crucial role in the decentralized decision-making process, empowering the community to guide the protocol’s direction in several key areas: Governance of the Ether.Fi treasury, implementation of significant protocol upgrades, setting protocol fees and the distribution mechanism.
ETHFI currently has a total supply of 1 billion tokens, with a self-reported circulating supply of 115.2 million tokens at the time of listing, representing approximately 11.52% of the total supply.
