What is $KITE (KITE)?
Kite ($KITE) is the native token of the Kite blockchain, an EVM-compatible Layer-1 network developed to support AI agents in handling digital payments and identity tasks. It is designed to serve as the infrastructure for a machine-driven economy by enabling secure, verifiable, and programmable interactions between autonomous agents.
The Kite project focuses on enabling AI agents to carry out real-time transactions, confirm identities, and manage interactions using stablecoins. The blockchain operates on a mechanism known as Proof of AI, where each action by an agent generates a cryptographically verifiable record stored on-chain. This record captures every stage of a transaction from user authorization to agent execution ensuring auditability and compliance.
To support these operations, Kite integrates features such as session-based authorizations, stablecoin-based gas fees, and identity structures that distinguish between user, agent, and session roles. It also implements agent-native payment systems through low-latency state channels and interoperable standards like x402, OAuth 2.1, and others. These systems allow agents to act independently while maintaining traceability and trust.
The $KITE token plays a central role in facilitating transactions and governance within the network. It enables micro-payments, covers network fees, and supports smart contract execution across agent workflows. Through the SPACE framework comprising Stablecoin payments, Programmable trust, Agent identity, Compliance, and Execution, Kite structures its functionality around agent-specific needs, unlike general-purpose blockchains.
The Kite protocol was initially proposed in October 2024, with development starting in December 2024. Throughout 2025, several testnet phases demonstrated the system’s scalability, supporting millions of accounts and consistent transaction volumes. During this period, the ecosystem began forming with the launch of an Agent App Store, development tools, and enterprise-level integrations. The mainnet launch is expected to prioritize stablecoin payments, cross-chain functionality, and identity systems. Token distribution began with listings on major exchanges in November 2025.
$KITE is used across various application areas. In gaming, it enables fast and low-cost in-game transactions using stablecoins. For IoT, it supports device-to-device payments for bandwidth and data. In the creator economy, fans can stream micro-payments directly to creators. In the API economy, each API call becomes a transaction with verifiable proof of payment. E-commerce platforms benefit from programmable checkouts and automated escrow. For personal finance, agents manage spending and savings with defined rules. In knowledge-sharing environments, contributors receive micropayments for validated insights. Supply chains use Kite for automating payments and verifications across trading networks. Governance systems benefit from automated policy execution and recorded decision-making by AI agents.
Looking ahead, the Kite roadmap includes the public mainnet, wider stablecoin support, interoperability with non-EVM networks, governance APIs, and enhanced identity and payment features for agents. Further developments target zero-knowledge (ZK) settlement for faster AI billing and extended tools for enterprise integration.
The maximum supply of KITE is set at 10,000,000,000 tokens, with 1,800,000,000 KITE (18% of the total supply) in circulation at the time of listing.
KITE is listed on Binance for trade and purchase. The current price of KITE is listed and available in real-time on Binance.
