According to reports, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that despite his dissatisfaction with the Federal Reserve's failure to lower interest rates in a timely manner, he has no intention of firing Chairman Jerome Powell. He reiterated that now is the "perfect time" for a rate cut.
Trump hopes Powell will act "early or on time," rather than lagging behind. Previously, Trump criticized Powell on Truth Social, stating that he "should be fired as soon as possible," which caused market volatility. The White House clarified that the president is not formally considering removal and is focused on advancing trade agreement negotiations.
