💬 Last night, the FED announced to keep interest rates unchanged (as per the vote).
Interest rates are expected to decrease in October according to my view.
And some statements from the FED chair during the meeting are as follows:
Powell stated that the FED has not made any decisions related to policy in September and will continue to monitor new economic data (PPI, CPI...)
He also noted the issue of inflation influenced by tariffs, which may be short-term but could last longer if tariffs become a fixed factor in the economy.
Powell also mentioned the recent pleasant meeting of President TRUMP at the FED headquarters, and he declined to comment on the issue of TRUMP pressuring for lower interest rates.
