Scott Bessent, the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, said that the FED should step back as it did before to keep calm in the market and focus on long-term monetary policy that serves the American people. He criticized the regional FED Presidents for continuously speaking out as it is excessive and does not address the truly important issues.
As Bessent is the one directly interviewing candidates for the position of FED Chairman, it is very likely that he is looking for someone who can reform the FED, someone who supports the White House's viewpoint.
