After retiring in September 2018, I wandered for a few months and found that a vocational (associate) degree is like a stain on life, making it impossible to find a decent job. I initially thought of using the policy for retired soldiers to bypass the entrance exams and get a full-time bachelor's degree. But while drifting around various cities, I realized: for many HRs in companies, an associate degree, a bachelor's degree through the associate program, and having a criminal record are not much different; they all carry a hint of “this person is useless.” So, after spending 40% of my severance pay on cryptocurrency and losing it all, I thought about using the special policy for retired soldiers to take the postgraduate entrance exam. Then in 2022, still wandering in various cities looking for a job, with my background and level, trying to find a decent job in the traditional world is as difficult as trying to find a “crew cut | uniform | abs | 1” in Chengdu, so in the end, I “could only” choose to enter the hair-raising industry. I am very clear that with my background and my not-so-sales-oriented personality, I would be a certain type of worker in the traditional world, and my efforts would only yield a monthly salary of 5000-7000 RMB. Although many unpleasant things have happened in the past two years, my current life is already much better than before, and I am a little bit satisfied with my current life.
