Türkiye's Paribu Buys CoinMENA for Up to $240M in Largest Fintech Deal

Turkish digital asset platform Paribu has acquired the Middle East and North Africa's (MENA) largest local crypto exchange, CoinMENA, in a transaction valued at up to $240 million USD.

Why this is significant:

Largest Turkish Fintech Deal: The transaction is the largest fintech acquisition in Türkiye’s history and the country's first cross-border acquisition of a digital asset platform.

Regulatory Expansion: The acquisition gives Paribu immediate access to CoinMENA's existing digital asset licenses from the Central Bank of Bahrain and Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), allowing Paribu to rapidly scale its regulated operations across the high-growth MENA region.

Scale and Reach: CoinMENA brings over 1.5 million users across 45 countries to Paribu's ecosystem, dramatically increasing the combined company's global footprint.

Paribu's CEO, Yasin Oral, stated that the deal turns Paribu into a regulated player in one of the world's most crypto-adoptive regions and marks a turning point for the firm's international growth.
