While counting down the days to announce the December interest rate decision, interest rate forecasts continue to come in.
At this point, the latest forecast came from Hassett, who is mentioned as a candidate for the next FED Chair and is the Director of the White House National Economic Council.
Speaking to Fox News, Kevin Hassett expressed that the FED should implement a 25 basis point rate cut in the decision it will announce next week.
Hassett, who stated that he expects a 25 basis point rate cut next week, reminded that recent statements from FED officials have also signaled easing.

Finally, speaking about the speculation regarding the FED chair candidacy, Hassett said, 'The president has a few candidates in mind… I am honored to be on the same list as some great people.'
Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump, who has frequently praised Hassett and indicated his candidacy, announced that he has made his decision regarding the FED chairmanship and will reveal this name at the beginning of 2026.
Trump also said during a program at the White House on Tuesday, 'I think a potential FED chairman candidate is here. The only thing I can tell you is that he is a respected person.'
