On December 6th, Beijing time, at 1:00 AM, the draw ceremony for the 2026 World Cup will be held in Washington, USA. According to the latest report from The Athletic, U.S. President Trump will accept the first FIFA Peace Prize and deliver a speech at the draw ceremony.

According to multiple sources, as per the activity plan finalized in recent weeks, Trump will have the opportunity to speak during this nearly two-hour ceremony held at the Kennedy Center in Washington.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney will also attend this draw ceremony. It is noteworthy that FIFA is unlikely to impose strict restrictions on the content of Trump's speech.

White House spokesperson Davis Engel stated: "Throughout American history, there has never been a time under President Trump’s leadership where the United States has gained such widespread respect and achieved such remarkable accomplishments. Today’s America is the most influential country in the world, which makes us the best choice to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the world’s top sporting event."

However, the White House has not commented on Trump’s speech at the draw ceremony.

On November 5th, FIFA officially announced the establishment of a new award—the 'FIFA Peace Prize'.

FIFA’s official website and FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s social media account had simultaneously released a statement, in which Infantino stated: "In today’s increasingly turbulent and divided world, it is crucial to recognize the outstanding contributions of those who tirelessly work to quell conflicts and unite people in a spirit of peace."

He also emphasized: "Football symbolizes peace and represents the shared belief of the global football community. The 'FIFA Peace Prize' will be used to honor individuals who strive to unite people and sow hope for future generations."

FIFA pointed out that this award will be established as an annual award, and the first award will be officially presented by Infantino at the World Cup draw ceremony held in Washington this Saturday.
