Sorry if the question seems a bit simple, but does this circled area look like clear accumulation? It seems like some whale or institution has bought a lot and the price has temporarily pushed up.

Do these people also hedge their positions? For example, if an institution is heavily accumulating, do they also place a short at the same time to keep the price in check — or does that logic not make sense?

And are these long wicks meant to liquidate those with leverage?
