One unstoppable community Binance recently named Yi He as co-CEO alongside Richard Teng, reinforcing its new leadership structure after founder CZ stepped down. • The company reportedly obtained a “global license” under the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) framework — a big win for its global regulatory compliance. • Despite past scandals and fines, Binance continues to try to rebuild trust and operate globally under more formal oversight in many jurisdictions. Binance has faced serious regulatory scrutiny and legal problems. For example, authorities in the U.S. accused it of insufficient anti-money-laundering (AML) controls. • Investigations revealed that over a period (2017–2021) Binance processed billions of dollars linked to illicit transactions (hacks, frauds, drug trafficking). • As a result, Binance was fined and forced to settle, and its founder stepped down. • The fact that Binance “has no official headquarters” — part of its decentralised corporate structure — sometimes complicates regulatory oversight.

One unstoppable community Binance recently secured a full license from Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), via Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) — covering exchange, clearing, and brokerage services. That is a major regulatory milestone. • Starting January 5, 2026, Binance plans to operate under a structured three-entity model under ADGM oversight: i.e., “Nest Exchange Services Limited” (for exchange activities), plus separate entities for clearing/custody/brokerage. Binance pushes toward regulated structures via ADGM license, it might become more “mainstream-finance friendly” — which could improve global trust and maybe make international transfers or cross-border crypto usage smoother.
