#CPIWatch Here’s a quick “Consumer Price Index (CPI) Watch” — what’s going on recently with inflation (especially in Bangladesh), why people pay attention, and what to expect next.
📈 Recent CPI / Inflation Situation (Bangladesh)
The latest data from Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) shows that annual inflation in Bangladesh rose to 8.29% in November 2025, up from 8.17% in October.
The increase was largely driven by rising food prices — food-inflation reached about 7.36% nationally (up from 7.08% in October).
Non-food inflation remained high too (around 9.08%), though slightly down from the previous month.
Despite some prior months where inflation dipped below the 9% mark, the recent uptick suggests inflation remains “sticky” — prices are still under upward pressure.
🧮 What CPI Means & Why It Matters
CPI tracks changes over time in the cost of a representative “basket” of goods and services (food, housing, clothing, transport, etc.).
