👀The U.S. government has become one of the largest holders of cryptocurrency in the world, having seized over $30 billion in digital assets. Most of this money came from judicial seizures, such as funds recovered from the Bitfinex hack and Silk Road cases, among others.
The assets are legally held and managed by official entities, with the proceeds used to compensate victims or deposited into treasury and justice department funds. Although it is not a direct investment, it places the U.S. government among the largest cryptocurrency owners globally.
