SEC ends investigation into $ONDO Finance and does not file any charges

Ondo Finance announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has officially closed its multi-year investigation into the company’s tokenization activities without issuing any charges. The probe centered on how Ondo created on-chain representations of real-world assets such as U.S. Treasuries and whether the ONDO token could be considered a security.

Ondo said the case was opened under the Biden administration during a period of increased regulatory pressure, but the company maintained full compliance. With Paul Atkins now leading a more crypto-friendly SEC, the agency has rolled back several investigations this year, signaling a more supportive environment for tokenization in the U.S.
