Binance has become the first crypto exchange ever to get a full global license under Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM)’s regulatory framework. That license officially authorizes its global platform (Binance.com) via separate regulated entities for exchange, clearing/custody, and broker-dealer operations.
With this license, Binance aims to operate under a more institutional-grade, compliant model — a potentially major boost to trust and legitimacy for both institutional and retail users worldwide.
As part of its restructuring and leadership changes, Binance has recently appointed co-founder Yi He as Co-CEO, alongside current CEO Richard Teng. This signals a transition to a dual-leadership structure aiming at stronger governance and compliance.
