Algorand has a system that is almost sterile VRF, a random committee, fast finality but this very sterility creates a narrow growth space. Its PoS mechanism demands stable participation, while the overly closed L1 structure makes it difficult for innovation to accelerate. As a result, Algorand appears to be a technically very disciplined protocol, but locked into that discipline itself, making its ecosystem struggle to keep up with more flexible chain dynamics.
