In the years of trading cryptocurrencies, I've experienced losses, pain, and also turned things around. Ultimately, I've distilled 5 truly useful survival rules.

In the first two years, I lost heavily, but gradually figured out the patterns, and now I'm able to sustain my family through trading. Looking back, these 5 pieces of advice are simple, yet they were forged with real money.

1. Only trade strong coins, avoid the weak ones.

Determining strength is simple:

If the price is above the 60-day moving average and holds, it's strong; if it breaks below, it's weak.

Go long on strong coins, exit weak ones without hesitation.

Don’t underestimate this standard; it works well for most coins.

2. Don’t chase coins that have surged too much; low-priced coins offer better value.

Coins that have risen over 50% may look appealing, but the risks are huge.

Chasing them can lead to being thrown out or getting trapped.

In contrast, low-priced, low-volume coins that no one is watching, once they start moving, are more stable and easier to grasp.

3. There are signs to see before the main upward trend starts.

Before a main upward trend, there is usually a period of -10% to 20% low-volume fluctuations.

If the position is low enough and the volatility narrows, it indicates that the main players are accumulating.

During this phase, entering in batches has a very high success rate.

4. New sectors are the easiest windows for making money.

Every time the market introduces a new concept, the hype usually lasts for 3 to 5 days.

Those who understand how to follow the emotions can easily reap the first wave of profits.

5. In a bear market, you must learn to stay in cash.

When the market is bad, not trading is the best strategy.

Staying in cash for at least six months is not excessive.

Knowing how to buy is basic, knowing how to sell is advanced, but daring to stay in cash is true maturity.

These may seem simple, but they have been repeatedly validated on my trading journey.

With proper execution, your profit curve will definitely be much smoother than it is now.
