Evidence-backed confirmation: XRP and ADA are not compliant with ISO 20022 standard
The discussions about XRP's compliance with the ISO 20022 standard have resurfaced, after Vet (@Vet_X0), a validator of the XRP ledger, confirmed that no cryptocurrency currently, including XRP and Cardano (ADA), meets this standard.

Vet's post came in response to a statement from Charles Hoskinson, the creator of Cardano, who referred to ISO 20022 as part of efforts to unify ADA with advanced financial messaging standards.

Vet wrote in his post: “Friendly reminder: XRP and ADA are not compliant with ISO 20022. No cryptocurrency is compliant.”, supported by a direct quote from the ISO 20022 website, which states that cryptocurrencies are “inherently incompatible with ISO 20022”.

The site adds that “there is a lot of confusion and misinformation on the web about cryptocurrencies compliant with ISO 20022”.

The renewed focus on the topic follows repeated public references that often suggest that the architecture of XRP is built to meet ISO 20022 standards.

But as Vet confirmed, the standard specifies a message format for secure data transmission between financial institutions, not for digital assets or their ledgers.
