🚨Understanding Address Poisoning Attacks
Address poisoning is a deceptive attack method designed to trick users into sending funds to malicious wallet addresses.

Attackers exploit common user behaviors by generating wallet addresses with first and last characters similar to those of trusted or previously used addresses. They then attempt to create misleading on-chain activity and deceive users who rely on partial address checks during future transfers.

Depending on the blockchain and token standard, attackers may use low-value transfers, spam token activity, or zero-value transactions to surface these lookalike addresses in a wallet’s recent activity, increasing the risk of accidental copy-paste errors.

Binance Wallet includes multiple security measures designed to help mitigate address poisoning risks:
• Advanced Spam & Dust Filtering: Binance Wallet automatically identifies and suppresses records from malicious or non-standard contracts.
• Similarity Alerts: Binance Wallet displays a high-risk security alert when a recipient address closely resembles a trusted address but does not exactly match.

🔐 Security Recommendations
• Avoid copying wallet addresses from transaction history
• Use saved and verified address book entries when possible
• Carefully verify the full recipient address before confirming any transfer
• Conduct a small test transfer before sending large amounts

Scam Red Flag 2: "Binance Admin" DM 😱

I almost lost $500 last month. This is how they trick you...

Last month I got a DM: "Hello, I'm Binance Support. Your account has suspicious login. Verify now or we'll freeze your funds."

It had a Binance logo, proper English, everything.

**I almost clicked the link.** Then I remembered Red Flag 1: Too Good To Be True.

This is Red Flag 2: **"Anyone DMing You First Is 99% Scam"**

🚨 Real Binance will NEVER:
1. DM you first on Square/Telegram/WhatsApp
2. Ask for your password or 2FA code
3. Send you a "verification link" to click
4. Ask you to "sync wallet" to get rewards

**What I do now:**
If someone claims to be "Support" - I ignore + block + report.
If I have a real issue, I open a ticket MYSELF via Binance App > Support.

That $500 I almost lost? It's still in my account because I stopped for 10 seconds to think.

Last week I saw a comment on my own post: "Tap to claim gift 🎁"

**Red Flag 1: "Too Good To Be True" Promises**
"If you send 1 BNB, I’ll send back 2 BNB."
Real projects NEVER ask you to send crypto first to get rewards. Never. This is the #1 scam in crypto. If it sounds like free money, it’s your money they want.

**Red Flag 2: Urgency + Secret Links**
"Claim in next 5 mins or gone forever! Click here 👉 [suspicious link]"
Binance official airdrops are ALWAYS announced on Binance Square, not in random comments. Legit links start with "binance.com" or "app.binance.com". Check the spelling. Scammers use "blnance.com" or "binnance.com".

**Red Flag 3: Asking for Seed Phrase / Private Key**
No real support team will EVER DM you asking for your 12-word seed phrase. Not Binance, not MetaMask, not anyone. If someone asks, it’s 100% a scam. Block immediately.

I keep my crypto safe by following 1 rule: "Trust, but Verify".
Before clicking anything, I check the official Binance announcement page and Twitter.

Crypto is risky enough with market volatility. Don’t let scammers make it worse.

- Anti-Phishing Code: If that secret 8-character code isn't in your email, DO NOT CLICK.

2. Withdrawal Whitelisting 📝
-This is the ultimate "Hacker-Blocker." By enabling this, your funds can ONLY be sent to addresses you have pre-approved. Even if someone gets into your account, they can't move your $BTC or $SOL to their own wallet.

3. NEW: Withdraw Protection (May 2026 Update) 🚨
- Did you see the new feature launched yesterday? You can now set a Withdrawal Lock for 1–7 days.
- It adds a "cooling-off" period that even Binance cannot override. It’s perfect for long-term holders who want absolute peace of mind.

4. The "Binance Verify" Rule ✅
- Scammers are impersonating "Binance Support" on Telegram and WhatsApp more than ever. Remember: Binance will NEVER ask for your password or ask you to move funds to a "secure wallet." Use the official "Binance Verify" tool to check if a link or contact is real.

#StaySAFU Scams in crypto? Sadly, I’ve seen it all.
A few months back, I got a DM on Telegram from someone pretending to be a Binance support agent. They offered to "help" me unlock a fake giveaway reward — all I had to do was share my seed phrase. 🚩 Instantly, I knew it was a scam.
Lesson learned? NEVER share your private keys or seed phrases — not even with so-called “official” accounts. Binance or any legit platform will never ask for this.
