Vay một khoản tiền rất lớn có giấy nợ mộc đỏ đàng hoàng, rồi đến một ngày buộc phải trả. Nếu lúc đó công việc thuận lợi, làm ăn tốt thì không sao. Nhưng nếu mất đi nguồn thu, áp lực đè lên vai sẽ cực kỳ nặng.
Strategy (công ty nắm giữ "Bitcoin" lớn nhất thế giới) đang rơi vào tình huống tương tự nêu trên, với khoản nợ 8 tỷ USD - áp lực trả nợ sẽ tăng mạnh bắt đầu từ năm 2028 - Con số mà bất kỳ công ty nào cũng phải sợ
Vấn đề là:
Giá cổ phiếu Strategy đã giảm mạnh so với đỉnh.Giá Bitcoin cũng thấp hơn trước.Nếu đến hạn mà mọi hoạt động không theo hướng tích cực, công ty có thể phải bán Bitcoin, phát hành thêm cổ phiếu giá rẻ, hoặc xoay tiền rất gấp để trả nợ.
Nhưng với Strive – một công ty khác cũng theo mô hình “mua và nắm giữ Bitcoin” – đã thử một cách làm táo bạo mới.
Thay vì vay nợ có ngày phải trả, Strive phát hành cổ phiếu ưu đãi vĩnh viễn. Đây là một loại “cổ phiếu cực dị”:

Strive chơi trội khi "xoá" các khoản nợ cũ bằng chính loại cổ phiếu này. Kết quả là công ty không còn chạy đua với thời gian để trả nợ, thông tin tài chính nhẹ hơn, và vẫn có khoảng không để tiếp tục đầu tư Bitcoin.
Theo anh em nhà Strategy có làm điều tương tự hay không?
Câu trả lời là có nhưng nó chỉ nằm ở vùng lý thuyết. Thực tế, Strategy đã bắt đầu thử phát hành cổ phiếu ưu đãi từ trước. Nhưng nào có bài toán 8 tỷ USD dễ tính, vì thời điểm hiện tại quy mô của Strategy hơn Strive cả hàng chục lần, làm theo y chang có khi cái mới còn thốn hơn cái cũ
Nhìn ở góc độ cá nhân, mình thấy các công ty Bitcoin treasury đang vẽ ra một mô hình mới để chuyển nợ ngắn hạn thành nợ dài hạn (và phải trả lãi vô hạn), holder $BTC đọc xong chắc rén ngang.
