OpenLedger's thesis is actually less about AI hype and more about coordination.

At its core, a Layer 1 blockchain is a shared source of truth between participants that don't fully trust each other. If AI infrastructure evolves into networks of models, agents, and data providers interacting independently, coordination becomes a real problem. Verification, attribution, payments, and accountability don't magically solve themselves.

The challenge is that infrastructure isn't tested by theory. It's tested by traffic. Real systems fail under load, unpredictable demand, and user behavior. Even strong networks discover weaknesses when activity spikes. Solana has shown both sides of this reality: extremely smooth under normal conditions, but still vulnerable to stress during periods of heavy demand.

The idea of spreading activity across multiple Layer 1s makes sense in theory. Different chains can act as separate coordination zones and reduce pressure on a single network. But liquidity fragmentation, adoption hurdles, and simple human behavior make that outcome far less certain than it sounds.

That's the part crypto often forgets. Good engineering doesn't automatically create good coordination.

OpenLedger is interesting because it's targeting a real infrastructure problem. Whether the market actually coordinates around the solution is a completely different question.
