Foundation because it’s trying to solve a quiet but serious problem in crypto.
Public blockchains are open by default, but real finance cannot operate with everything exposed. At the same time, regulation cannot work if everything is hidden. Dusk sits directly in the middle of this tension.
The system is designed as real infrastructure. Settlement is final and predictable, which matters when actual value is involved. On top of that, multiple execution environments allow applications to run without compromising safety. They support both transparent and private transactions, so users and institutions can choose what makes sense for each situation.
Privacy in Dusk isn’t about escaping rules. It’s about protecting sensitive information while still proving compliance. That balance is the core purpose.
