The walrus is a large marine mammal found in Arctic and sub-Arctic seas, known for its long tusks, whiskered face, and thick, wrinkled skin. Walruses use their tusks to haul themselves onto ice, defend against predators, and establish dominance. They live in herds and spend much of their time resting on ice floes or coastal beaches. Feeding mainly on clams and other bottom-dwelling animals, walruses play an important role in the Arctic ecosystem.
