The world of crypto is always evolving and with that evolution comes new innovations sometimes packed together with a promise of delivery.

Using Fabric Protocol as an example, their recent migration or upgrade on paper was meant to provide many improvements to the existing operations by streamlining them, improving scalability and increasing the overall capabilities of the platform. Unfortunately, as we learn more about the technical details of the migration logic, it appears to have created more questions than answers, at least for the users and investors that utilize the platform.

One area of concern for many in the community has to do with the actual complexity of performing and processing the migration process. The users and investors are left trying to navigate a migration with little direction or a clear defined "step 1, step 2 etc." process, ambiguous timelines, and a significant amount of technical barriers to verifying the migration process. Migrations are common within the evolution of the blockchain industry; however, many within the Eco-system felt that Fabric took the migration process too far causing uneasiness across the community. A protocol that promotes decentralization and transparency must find the right blend of innovation to clarity - Fabric has not seemed to accomplish that with their migration process.

The uneasiness regarding the migration is compounded by the overall pattern of developing narratives within the crypto Eco-system. There are multiple examples of companies or protocols developing these grandiose visions around how their technology would change the world. However, the execution of those visions rarely fulfills into an actual delivered product that meets the expectations of the initial narrative. Thus, creating an apprehension as to whether the next "next big thing" will actually deliver results or be another one of the same.
