That may sound conservative, but it’s exactly what an agent-driven economy needs.
Speed matters because machines don’t wait.
When people talk about performance in crypto, the conversation often devolves into throughput wars. Millions of transactions per second. Sub-second block times. Charts and benchmarks that look impressive on social media.
For agents, raw throughput is secondary. What matters is latency tolerance and predictability.
An agent doesn’t care if a chain can theoretically process millions of transactions. It cares whether it can rely on consistent execution when it needs to make a decision. If confirmation times fluctuate wildly, or if fees spike unpredictably, feedback loops break. Autonomy degrades into scripted behavior that only appears intelligent on the surface.
