According to PANews, CoinGecko data shows that Real World Assets (RWA) emerged as the top-performing crypto narrative in 2025, posting an average annual gain of 185.76%. This rally was largely fueled by Keeta Network, which surged an impressive 1,794.9%.
Layer 1 ranked second with an 80.31% increase, supported by strong performances from Zcash and Monero, which rose 691.3% and 143.6%, respectively. The U.S.-based crypto narrative placed third, delivering a 30.62% annual gain, driven mainly by Zcash’s strength.
In contrast, several popular sectors struggled in 2025. AI and Meme narratives declined by 50.18% and 31.61%, respectively. DeFi and DEX sectors also recorded losses of 34.79% and 55.53%, while Layer 2 fell 40.63%, marking its second consecutive year in the red.
The weakest performers were GameFi and DePIN, which plunged 75.16% and 76.74%, respectively. Meanwhile, the Solana ecosystem faced a significant downturn, dropping 64.17%.
