Iran’s deputy foreign minister said mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz would be conducted only by Iran under the Islamabad Memorandum, and that no other country would be allowed to take part.

According to Jin10, the official said the memorandum stipulates that the mine-clearing work in the strait is “only carried out by Iran,” and that participation by any other country in related operations is not permitted.
