@Fabric Foundation launches a contribution-driven reward mechanism where users are rewarded in tokens for their verified contributions, ensuring that value is attributed to those who contribute to the growth of the network.
In most blockchain networks, rewards are issued to users for simply holding or staking tokens. Fabric does not work this way. Fabric uses the $ROBO system where rewards are directly attributed to measurable contributions and not mere capital deployment.
The heart of this mechanism is the Proof-of-Contribution system. Users earn contribution points for their verified actions such as task completion, data submission, compute power, validation tasks, or skill module creation. Each of these actions is tracked and given a weightage based on its importance to the network.
Rewards are issued to users based on their contribution points. Users who make meaningful contributions earn more rewards. Users who do nothing earn nothing, regardless of how many tokens they hold. Holding tokens does not earn rewards; contributing to the network earns rewards.
Quality also counts. Contribution points are adjusted based on validation success and user feedback. Users who perform poorly are less eligible for rewards, while those who perform well are more eligible. This ensures that the network rewards users not only for contributing but also for contributing quality work.
To ensure that users do not manipulate the system by contributing all their work at the beginning of the period, contribution points decay over time if users do not continue contributing. This ensures that users are rewarded for their continued contributions and not for front-loading contributions. Additionally, there are minimum contribution thresholds that ensure that only users who are actively contributing to the network are eligible for rewards.
This ensures that there is a dynamic balance between emissions and participation. When the network is in its growth phase and emissions are high, participation is also high. When the network is in its mature phase and revenue is high, rewards are issued to users for economically productive services. The system balances while still being true to the network's output.
With ROBO, Fabric shows that a decentralized robotics network must reward effort, skill, and execution, not speculation.
