How to Earn, Track, and Use Your Rewards

B3TR is the reward token at the heart of VeBetter — capped at one billion units, distributed weekly over 12 years, and earned entirely through participation. This tutorial covers the three things you need to know to get the most from it: where B3TR comes from, how to keep track of what you’ve accumulated, and what you can actually do with it once you have it. At the end, a section on common missteps that are easy to avoid once you know they exist.
1 — Earning B3TR

There are three distinct pools that distribute B3TR each week. Most users start with one and expand into the others over time.
App Rewards — The X-Allocation Pool
This is the most accessible entry point. Participating apps in the VeBetter ecosystem reward users with B3TR for completing verifiable sustainable actions: recycling drop-offs, electric vehicle journeys, eco-conscious purchases, safe driving, and more. Choose an app from the VeBetter marketplace, complete an eligible action, and B3TR is deposited to your wallet.
What sets this apart from loyalty points is the verification layer. When an app rewards you, it submits cryptographic proof and impact data on-chain, AI-reviewed and permanently recorded on VeChainThor. That’s why B3TR has genuine value: every token in circulation is backed by a documented real-world action, monetizing the small amounts of value in the actions you take daily.
How much B3TR each app has available to distribute depends on its allocation from the X-Allocation Pool — a pool funded weekly through emissions and directed by community governance votes.
Voting Rewards — The Vote2Earn Pool
Once you hold VOT3 — VeBetter’s governance token, obtained by converting B3TR at a 1:1 rate — you can vote in weekly XAllocation rounds, directing the emissions pool toward apps you believe are doing the most credible work. In exchange for casting a valid vote, you earn a share of the Vote2Earn Pool.
Rewards are distributed proportionally to your VOT3 holdings at the time of the weekly snapshot, which is taken at the start of each round. You vote once per round, but you can split your allocation across multiple apps in a single vote. Voting on governance proposals — parameter changes, system updates, policy decisions — also earns rewards. The minimum to participate is 1 VOT3.
GM NFT Rewards — The GM Rewards Pool
The third pool distributes 5% of all weekly B3TR emissions to holders of Galaxy Member (GM) NFTs who vote during the cycle. Your share is calculated from two inputs: your NFT’s tier level, and how many proposals you vote on during the round. The model is linear — higher tier and more votes both increase your cut.
GM NFT upgrades are purchased using B3TR, which means your app earnings can be reinvested to increase your governance rewards over time. VeChain node holders receive free upgrades, connecting the broader VeChain community into the VeBetter reward structure.
Note: The GM NFT alone earns nothing. It is a multiplier that only activates when paired with active voting. You must vote in a given cycle for the GM Rewards Pool to pay out to you.
2 — Tracking Your B3TR

Where Your Balance Lives
VeWorld is your primary dashboard. Open the wallet and your B3TR and VOT3 holdings appear on the main screen alongside other VeChain tokens. The balance reflects confirmed on-chain transactions — after a verified app action, the balance updates in real time. VeWorld’s app tab connects directly to the VeBetter app marketplace and governance portal, so you can move between earning, voting, and balance-checking from one convenient location.
When Rewards Distribute
App rewards land in your wallet after each verified action is confirmed on-chain. Governance and GM NFT rewards distribute at the end of each weekly cycle — no manual claiming required for the standard flows. They accumulate through the week and settle automatically once the round closes.
Monitoring Rounds
The VeBetter governance portal at governance.vebetterdao.org shows the current allocation round, which apps are in contention, and where your votes are directed. Checking in here occasionally — even once a week — helps you understand which apps are growing in community support and whether your own votes are having an effect.
Auto-Claim
For users who prefer not to track each cycle manually, VeBetter offers an auto-voting and auto-claim feature. Enable it from the allocations page, and a relayer handles voting and reward claiming on your behalf. The cost is 10% of your weekly claimed rewards, capped at 100 B3TR.
To qualify, your wallet needs at least 1 VOT3, must have completed 3 sustainable actions within the VePassport window, must not be flagged, and must have eligible apps selected. Enable auto-voting once you have a clear picture of your typical weekly earnings and want to remove the manual overhead.
3 — Using Your B3TR

Once B3TR is in your wallet, four paths are available. Most active participants use more than one.
Convert to VOT3 and Participate in Governance
Converting B3TR to VOT3 at a 1:1 rate plugs you into the governance layer and the Vote2Earn reward pool. The conversion is reversible — but only up to the amount you personally converted. VOT3 received from another wallet cannot be converted back to B3TR, so treat any VOT3 you receive as governance-only.
Once you hold VOT3, you can vote in weekly XAllocation rounds and on governance proposals. Rewards accumulate proportionally to your holdings at each snapshot.
Upgrade Your Galaxy Member NFT
B3TR spent on GM NFT upgrades increases your tier level, which multiplies your share of the GM Rewards Pool each week you vote. This is the compounding mechanic in the ecosystem: rewards reinvested into upgrades generate larger reward shares, which can be reinvested further. Starting small is fine — the upgrade path is gradual, and the system rewards consistent long-term participation more than large one-time investments.
Trade on Exchanges
B3TR is freely tradeable on a growing number of exchanges. Current listings are available at vebetter.com/how-to-buy-b3tr. You can exchange it for other digital assets or convert to fiat at any time. B3TR lives in your self-custody wallet, so the decision about when and whether to trade is entirely yours.
Hold It
With a fixed one-billion supply cap and a 12-year distribution schedule, holding is a legitimate strategy as the ecosystem scales. As more apps join, more users onboard, and demand for B3TR grows, the fixed-supply profile creates a clear structural argument for accumulation. Holding requires nothing beyond keeping B3TR in your VeWorld wallet.
4 — Common Missteps to Avoid

Losing your VePassport eligibility
To qualify for governance voting rewards, your wallet needs a VePassport — earned by completing at least 3 verified sustainable actions within any 12-week rolling window. If you convert B3TR to VOT3 and vote but haven’t hit this threshold, you won’t receive rewards for that cycle. Stay active in at least one app and you’ll never have to think about this.
Missing the weekly snapshot
VOT3 holdings are snapshotted at the start of each allocation round. Any VOT3 you convert after that snapshot counts toward the following week, not the current one. Convert with enough lead time if you want to participate in a specific cycle.
Assuming your GM NFT earns passively
The GM Rewards Pool only pays out to NFT holders who vote during a given cycle. A high-tier NFT earns nothing in a week you skip voting. The NFT is a multiplier; participation is what activates it.
Expecting third-party VOT3 to convert back
VOT3 received from other wallets cannot be converted back to B3TR — only the VOT3 you generated through your own conversions is reversible. Plan your B3TR-to-VOT3 conversions with this in mind and don’t rely on received VOT3 as a liquid reserve.
Falling for unofficial support
Any unsolicited DM claiming to be VeBetter or VeChain support — on Discord, Telegram, X, or anywhere else — should be treated as a scam. The official resources are vebetter.com and docs.vebetterdao.org. No one from VeChain will ever ask for your seed phrase.
