I'll be honest. When I first saw $RAVE on my screen, I almost scrolled past it.
A music event token. Up 944% in a month. My first instinct was oky, another pump. But then I started digging, and what I found was a little more complicated than I expected.
RaveDAO is not your typical DeFi project. These people actually throw raves. Dubai, Hong Kong, Lisbon, New York. Real venues, real crowds, 3,000+ attendees per event. And in 2025, they pulled in over $3 million in actual event revenue. That's not nothing. In a space full of whitepapers and empty promises, a project generating real cash from real events deserves at least a second look.
So why am I not fully convinced?
Because when I looked at the on-chain data right before the big price surge, something didn't sit right with me. About 10 hours before $RAVE exploded, wallets connected to the project's own deployer address moved 18.5 million tokens roughly $40 million worth at peak straight to Bitget. No announcement. No context. Just a quiet, massive transfer right before the pump began.
That pattern has a name in this market. And it's not a good one.
Then there's the technical side. RSI hit 95.95 at the peak. Open interest in derivatives touched $250 million. Most of this rally wasn't spot buyers slowly accumulating — it was a short squeeze, leveraged positions getting liquidated one after another, pushing the price higher in a way that looks dramatic but doesn't always last.
And here's what concerns me most about the tokenomics: only 23% of the total 1 billion supply is circulating right now. The rest starts unlocking in Q4 2026. That's a wall of potential sell pressure sitting quietly in the background while everyone celebrates the charts.
I'm not saying $RAVE is a scam. The events are real, the community seems genuine, and upcoming catalysts like the Hong Kong Dim Sum Rave on April 18 and the Lisbon Dance Summit on April 29 could keep the narrative alive for a while.
But there's a difference between a project that's building something and a token that's being traded. Right now,RAVE is being traded very aggressively and I think anyone entering here needs to be honest with themselves about which one they're betting on.
The music is good. Just make sure you know where the exit is.
