Despite the influx of developers and the growing infrastructure and market cap, the new Bitcoin protocol is still facing a very strong wave of hate. The latest step in the effort to censor transactions is reporting Ordinals to the US Federal Vulnerability Database (NIST).
It is indeed interesting how drastically part of the Bitcoin culture has changed. Since the emergence of Bitcoin maximalism, this part of the crypto world has begun to seek the help of state apparatuses in an effort to prioritize Bitcoin only and exclusively. An example here is the continuous cheering of the SEC and calling Ethereum, the second largest blockchain in the world, a security. Now maximalism has reached the point of trying to literally censor Bitcoin transactions.
Wasn’t crypto about disconnecting from the state and the regulated, centralized financial world? Everyone can have their own opinion about the Ordinals, NFTs, and BRC-20 market, but ultimately this is a free market with activity on the freest, most decentralized, and uncensorable network in the world to date.
Do you think the Ordinals would have supported Satoshi himself?
or would he have sought state help in his efforts to censor transactions?
