lol remember when this thing hit 1.02 last year? good times. i definitely didn't sell. definitely held all the way down to0.004. genius move, i know.

but here's the thing nobody talks about—while everyone was busy calling web3 gaming dead and moving on to AI coins or whatever, the Pixels team actually kept building. like, actually. they didn't disappear. they didn't pull a "we're pivoting to AI" move. they just... kept shipping stuff.

the game is actually fun tho

real talk for a sec. i started playing Pixels because i thought i'd make money (narrator: he did not), but i kept playing because it's actually chill. it's like Stardew but you can own your land as an NFT and there's something weirdly satisfying about farming digital potatoes and knowing some other player might actually buy them off you.

the whole two-token thing they had before was confusing as hell—BERRY and PIXEL, inflation everywhere, nobody knew what was what. but they killed BERRY last year and moved to this "Coins" system for free players. way cleaner now. you can play completely free and never touch crypto, or you can go full degen and buy land and stake PIXEL and all that. your choice.

tokenomics that don't make me want to vomit

okay so check this out. circulating supply is like 3.3 billion now out of 5 billion total that's 66% unlocked. back in 2024 it was way worse—constant unlocks crushing the price every month. i remember that 91 million token unlock in august last year, absolute bloodbath

but now? the heavy dilution phase is mostly done. next unlocks are smaller. doesn't mean price will pump, but at least we're not getting dumped on every tuesday by vesting schedules.

and here's something i noticed—daily volume is like 17-18 million lately , but market cap is tiny. like30 million or something stupid. that velocity ratio is wild. either smart money is accumulating or everyone's just trading it back and forth while waiting for... something.

they're actually going multi-game now

this is new. Pixels announced they're integrating with other games on Ronin. first one is The Forgotten Runiverse—some RPG thing where you can earn PIXEL and spend it on mana and boosts founder Luke mentioned they're working on a "novel staking system" too, whatever that means.

plus they're incubating like 5-6 new games. so PIXEL becomes this index token across multiple games instead of just one farming sim. clever move if it works. risky if it doesn't.

the community is surprisingly not dead

binance square still has people posting about PIXEL daily. the discord isn't a ghost town. when i logged back into the game last week there were still thousands of people farming and trading. 152k unique active wallets last i checked

compare that to most 2024 gaming tokens that launched, pumped, and now have like 12 people online pretending the game isn't shutdown. Pixels is actually... alive?

why i'm still holding (don't roast me)

not saying this goes back to 1. that's probably not happening unless gaming tokens become the meta again and we get a full bull run. but at0.008? the risk/reward feels different now.

game works team ships updates token actually gets used (burned for guilds, pets, VIP) heavy unlocks mostly done expanding to other gamesbstill top 8 NFT game apparently

like, could it go to zero? sure. it's crypto. everything can go to zero. but could it 5x or 10x from here if gaming comes back? doesn't seem crazy.

the bear case (because i'm not a shill)

liquidity is thin. one whale dumps and price tanks. holder concentration is sketchy—apparently it's pretty centralized still . and there's always more unlocks coming, just smaller ones.

plus the whole sector is out of favor. nobody cares about "play to earn" anymore after 2022 broke everyone's brain. Pixels has to prove it's actually fun first, earn second. which... i think it is? but i'm biased because i play it.

random thoughts

the mobile version they're planning could be huge. farming games on mobile print money (look at Hay Day or whatever)

if they actually open source the code like they said, might see cool community mods

Ronin network is solid. cheap fees, fast transactions, Axie proved it works at scale

so yeah

i'm not telling you to buy PIXEL. i'm definitely not telling you to buy PIXEL. i have a bag and i want company in my suffering/slow recovery.

but if you're looking at gaming tokens and everything else looks like a vaporware scam, Pixels is one of the few where you can actually... play the game? today? and it's not terrible?

that shouldn't be a high bar but here we are.

anyone else still holding from the highs? or did you sell the bottom and now you're just watching from the sidelines? curious what the vibe is on square lately.

also if the team is reading this—please stop the unlocks for like... a month? just a month? let us breathe lmao.
