At the core of Dusk’s new multilayer architecture is a unified token model. The DUSK token remains the sole fuel for the entire ecosystem, powering staking on the settlement layer (DuskDS), gas for Solidity dApps (DuskEVM), and privacy computations (DuskVM). Crucially, the network features a validator-run native bridge, allowing assets to move trustlessly between layers without the security risks associated with wrapped assets or external custodians.
Technologically, Dusk is setting a new standard for rollups. The integration of a MIPS-powered pre-verifier on the DuskDS node checks state transitions before they are committed to the chain. This innovation eliminates the 7-day fault window typically associated with Optimistic rollups, ensuring faster finality and greater security. For validators and stakers, the transition is effortless: simply running the new release instantly upgrades the node to be EVM-compatible, preserving all balances and staking rewards while opening the door to the vast Ethereum ecosystem.
